After several barren landscape photography trips to Outback South Australia, Laurie McArthur writing skills necessary to venture alone an environment in which to kill simply by being there, if not careful.
Traveling in an ATV (quad or four wheels), Laurie has traveled hundreds of miles around the arid west of Lake Torrens in South Australia, camping and photographing the landscape inhospitable desert where it goes.
Property Land
About 70% of pastoral leases in southern Australia. The land is owned by the State of South Australia and leased long term for sheep farmers and cattle grazing, and mining companies for exploration and mining.
If you look at a map regular Outback South Australia, roads public roads are marked and you are free to travel these roads through arid desert Outback as you would any other country road. The exceptions are the national parks and indigenous lands. But there are two other stories.
However, additional roads and trails marked on a topographical map of Outback South Australia, and are the property of the station. If a door or not, must have authorization from the station manager for Outback Travel on these roads and tracks.

2) Contact Outback SA Level 6, 101 Grenfell Street, Adelaide SA 5000 or by phone at 1 800 678 477 for a list of pastoral leases.
3) Contact with the relevant pastoral lessee (s) by telephone or by letter, and before the proposed travel. They can refuse permission for a number of good reasons, including inventory management and road conditions.
You must consider some of these people are not very suitable for office work. But overall, once developed a good relationship with them will be more favorable.
It is important to note that the role of pastors in the land Outback is to perform actions. There should be an extension of the tourism industry and can not wait to get away if they get into difficulties in their season.
Navigation
The Outback of South Australia is enormous and unforgiving, so be well prepared for their return path accurately across the arid region.
1) Cards You need a roadmap of the paper and a paper topographical map of the region you intend to travel Outback. Not rely solely on GPS, no matter how sophisticated a model that is.
Pocket 2) An inexpensive compass compass to guide you to a topographic map or a map.
3) GPS with a handheld or vehicle mounted GPS know where you are on the map to an accuracy of about five meters. An entry level GPS used with a paper map will be very suitable finding your way in South Australia. More sophisticated models display a map on the screen movements.
The Bush 4) Know that the sun and the moon set at the time of year and how far north the sun at noon. Once the sun and the moon move north in winter. Take note of the prevailing wind direction and sand dunes parallel.
5) Study of Long before Maps travel, familiar with the country in the heart of South Australia Travel become. Learn more about features such as hills, wells, dams, farms, lakes, river beds and main roads and tracks. Google Earth is an excellent resource to see the inside of the advance.

There are so many wonderful things to see that it is difficult to enumerate them, but if I had much time and money was an issue that would Acadia NP (Maine), Boston (history), New York – just to say I was, Smokey Mountains – very nice, the St. Louis Arch (Gateway Arch), Rocky Mountain National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and San Diego (large zoo).
