Heroes of Memphis soul music
When we speak of the soul music of Memphis, there are many names that should certainly be mentioned. The People like WC Handy, Frank Stokes, Willie Nix, Furry Lewis, Sleepy John Estes, Junior Parker, Ida Cox, Memphis Minnie, Rosco Gordon, Howlin Wolf, Robert Wilkins, Big Mama Thornton Sowell and Bobby have worked together to create, shape and define what Memphis soul music is and must be provided.
Created in the years 1920 and 1930 by local musicians, the Memphis soul music has been mostly associated to Beale Street, the center of all things art and pleasure not only in Memphis, Tennessee, but all (and perhaps all countries). There was even whole books devoted exclusively to Memphis soul music, like Goin Back to Memphis, a book published in 2000 by James L. Dickerson.
Most of the musicians involved in the scene of soul Memphis was extremely poor when we started, so they could not pay for many types of instruments that were popular this time. Instead of using the sounds of trombones, drums and other expensive instruments, the sounds are produced with easy access, economic factors (Many of them were lying around the house anyway) to create the unique sound of Memphis soul music.
Thus, when the music Memphis soul was the first to be created, it has focused on strange musical instruments, which has created a unique sound that many people had never heard of. Of course, it was generally a standard guitar in the mix, but there are bands that are simply pots used and nothing else! jug bands are an important segment of the Memphis soul music. Other instruments that were popular in the soul music of Memphis, including old washboards, kazoos, Jews harps, banjos and harmonicas.
It was not until after World War II infiltrated instruments Electric Memphis soul music. Also in the same time, there was a mass migration of African-Americans, rural clubs Nowheresville the promise of jobs and greater equality than urban areas have to offer. Accordingly, the Memphis soul music began to sound very different. jug band was slowly replaced by electric instruments on musicians like BB King and Ike Turner.
Since then, all sorts of different kinds have been influenced by Memphis soul music. Rock and roll would certainly not be the same without the sound on Beale Street, and to date has not been something like that.

How do I play rock music on electric guitar?
Recently, I bought my first electric guitar, and I was wondering if you can touch the rock music like AC / DC or Bon Jovi with a single amplifier, or I have to buy a stomp to get these sounds?
From a musician: Normally, can be quite decent sound from only one amplifier and a guitar, if the guitar is decent, and the amplifier has at least one effect overdrive or distortion (Most new amps do). You may have to adjust the tone a bit to get the sound you are looking for. AC / DC riffs are not difficult at all, especially a couple power chord riff is real. This would be a good thing to start if you like that kind of music. Once you start the better you can play alone, but may want to join the riffs until you get the idea what you are doing. Therefore, you may be able to get a decent amp with just one, but it is possible some settings around and experimenting to find the perfect sound (but keep mind if you get a good effect pedal or processor that will not break the bank is not a bad investment if you really want a good sound).
