Dominican Republic is our direct competitors. Why? What are their strategies? How do they compare to the strategies implemented in Puerto Rico as a tourism destination?
1. house prices – Tourism money can not afford to go to PR 2. wages in the Dominican Republic are third or less as the industry Tourism should pay its employees in Puerto Rico, so the rate will be lower in March. Dominican Republic is not only our direct competition, Cancun is a higher destiny that people prefer to go because of price and 4. With public relations in order to attract more visitors will need to adjust their marketing strategies and start focusing on the mass of the population. With no money or holidays. 5. PR Tourism Company has always focused on the middle class upper and upper class society trageted in the population. These are the people you want to visit. 6. PR Tourism Co. does not endorse and street signs, they think the market will attract the evil (the masses). 7. They said pay television in prime time, which is a plus! 8. Taxis too much control of tourist transport. PR is the only cruise lines cruise destination are not able to arrange travel for its passengers. There are hotel shuttles everywhere take you to the airport and nearby attractions. If a hotel in Puerto Rico is a taxi sabotage everything. 9. Our main market is the United States. The east coast is our main source of visitors, followed by Florida, Texas and California. 10. Tonight Anotehr tpourism island is the view that many people have about puertorricans and the country itself.
